A recent MiSTer update introduced a newer Linux kernel that stops Zaparoo Frontend from opening. A hotfix is now available through Update All.

Zaparoo Core v2.17.2 is now available. This patch release fixes problems found after v2.17.1, mostly around reader auto-detect on MiSTer and Linux, stopping Steam and LaunchBox games on Windows, and keeping Core discoverable when your network changes.

Zaparoo Frontend v1.3.0 and Zaparoo Core v2.17.1 are now available. Update All installs both together.

Frontend is a lot faster and has a new look, plus a Hub you can arrange yourself, a reorganized settings menu, and a MiSTer Main build that adds kiosk mode and CRT settings to the OSD. Core v2.17.1 is a patch release for problems found after v2.17.0. The two that mattered most: RetroDECK and EmuDeck games refusing to launch on Linux and SteamOS, and MiSTer arcade games counted as closed the moment they started.

Zaparoo Core v2.17.0 is now available. This release adds automatic update checks with opt-in installs, brings Linux desktop and SteamOS out of beta with launchers for 21 standalone emulators and a Zaparoo plugin for Decky Loader, and adds extension cards for playtime limits and per-reader scan modes.

Zaparoo App v1.13.0 is rolling out now on Google Play outside France. This release is Android-only for now.

v1.13.0 adds a full Library browser and profile controls in the App. It also polishes swipe-back feedback, modal gestures, haptic feedback, and accessibility across the App.

Hi everyone. I've published the new Zaparoo CLI, along with seven Agent Skills for developing integrations, testing changes, and working with Zaparoo devices.

This is now the supported starting point for new command-line and AI-assisted Zaparoo development. If you want an agent to diagnose a Core device, prototype an integration, or check behavior against the public APIs, this is the package to give it.

The CLI is available now as @zaparoo/cli.

This update fixes an issue where enabling CRT mode would show static snow instead of the Frontend UI. If you updated to v1.2.0 and CRT mode was not usable, update to v1.2.1.
